Dannemiller has developed this series of monthly learning modules to address a wide range of current and important topics in pain and pain management. Each month, we produce two modules with each consisting of 10 expertly selected and abstracted articles from hundreds of medical journals that cover the entire spectrum of pain. Each module is certified for 1 AMA PRA category 1 credit of Continuing Medical Education (CME) for physicians, 1.2 CBRN contact hours for Registered Nurses (RNs), and 1 AANA CE credit for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs).

To obtain CME / CE credit, simply:

  1. Select a module you want to complete. Modules are added monthly. Browse through the objectives for each module until you find one that you want to read and complete.
  2. After reading the objectives and 10 abstracts, the user should proceed to the Online post-test for that module using the navigational buttons provided at the bottom of each module.
  3. After completion of the post-test, complete the administrative information and the evaluation for online submission to Dannemiller.
  4. Physicians and RNs: Users who receive a successful online grade of 80% will be issued a CME/CE certificate for 1 CME credit/1.2 CE contact hour online that may be printed at their location. In the event that you are unable to print a certificate, please submit the post-test and then email editor@dannemiller.com. A certificate will be mailed to you within two weeks.
  5. CRNAs: Users who receive a successful online grade of 80% will be issued a notice of successful completion online that may be printed at their location. NOTE: In accordance with AANA policy, CRNAs who score less than 80% on a post-test will not be allowed to retest to obtain CE credit. Answers will be available for self-assessment immediately after passing the post-test. A compilation of monthly credits successfully completed will be reported by Dannemiller to the AANA.
  6. Complete as many modules as you want or need. New modules are posted every month to provide you with additional articles to read and an opportunity to earn additional credits of continuing education.

Prior to participating in any on-line CME/CE activity, you should carefully review the accreditation information to ensure it has been approved by your respective board or by a board that is recognized by your specialty.

December, 2011; To enhance your learning experience, editor's notes will now precede your abstracts, the important points will be bolded and a classification (with subclassification, where indicated) will be noted, so as to avoid repetition and ensure a diversity of articles. Your comments and/or questions are encouraged.
